On the Mend

Tiff had a great first night her own room. She is resting comfortably and doing her breathing exercises. Her nurse is hopeful that she can have her chest tubes removed today and then we can have her up and walking.

She is still very sore, as expected, but getting her out of bed and walking should help her energy levels and soreness a lot.

I am so proud of her, she is so strong, within 24 hours of having open heart surgery, Tiffani has:

Gotten her breathing tubes removed.
Gotten out of bed and sat in a chair by herself.
Moved out of ICU.
Doing her breathing exercises (double the required amount).
Eating solid foods (I'm talking BBQ chicken, corn and carrots).
Entertained her whole family in her new room.

The nurses last night said she looked like she had gotten out of surgery two days ago, when I told them she hadn't even been out of the OR for 24 hours, they were really impressed.

We have been reading Tiff your comments and she wants me to thank every one of you for your prayers and thoughts, they mean so much to her and to all of us.

All our love,

Tim

What great news! I imagine you all are having as much fun as is legal at a hospital! What a blessing your family is! We're having a little party here with my parents in town and they wanted to let Tiffani know they've been praying too! (Mom is not at all blogging savvy so I told her I'd let you know!) Can't wait to hear more good news from you later this weekend!

Same goes for my family...my mom told me to tell you that she and a lot of her teacher friends have been praying for your recovery. You are one tough cookie! I'm not at all surprised that you're exceeding the nurses expectations.

i can't stop smiling thinking about you going above and beyond your expected recovery rate. you are a trend setter no matter where you are, way to go tiffani!

and then i smile some more thinking of you being the hostess with the mostest in your hospital room.

i can't even imagine your pain and the uncomfortableness of this stage, but i am glad God blessed you with your amazing spirit of determination and you are making such wonderful progress all ready.

May HE give you strength in all your exercises, comfort for your pain, and many smiles with your sweet family.

love you!

This is the good news: that Jesus gave us abundant life. BBQ chicken, corn and carrots is abundant life!

I'm between concerts today and have been praying for you to be pain free and all discomfort at a minimum while I play lovely Christmas music for an audience. I'm believing God to give you many joyful and victorious Christmases to come because he has given you His heart.

More good news: Abilene High won over Southlake Carroll by 1 point and is on the way to a state championship!
Blessings to all. Joyce a.k.a Aunt Rhody
